Aquatic therapy is held Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Taught in a small group setting by one of our therapists, it is designed for patients with specific pathologies that may respond better than conventional land therapy. For more detailed information, patients may call our office and speak to one of our therapists.

Don’t get lost in the Tyson’s maze! New people to this facility usually get lost without the instructions below and the attached map.

PARKING:  Parking for The Jackson Clinics parking is available at 8260 Greensboro Drive (click here for Google Maps link to parking lot).  Please view the parking lot on the attached map, and do not rely entirely on your GPS.  This parking lot is located near the front entrance of Tyson’s Sport & Health which is well marked. From Greensboro drive, turn onto the small access road to the left of the Cardinal Bank building and pass through a parking gate.

FINDING THE CLINIC: Our clinic is located inside Tyson’s Sport & Health. Please sign in at the front desk of Sport and Health and they will direct you to our exact location.

VALIDATION: Parking is $2 with validation from The Jackson Clinics, and $8 without validation, so please don’t forget to validate!

Terri Lannigan, PT, DPT

Education: Dr. Lannigan graduated from Marymount University. She is a Direct Access Provider and an APTA certified clinical instructor. Currently, she is working toward a Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic PT and toward her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification.

Dr. Lannigan also acts as CCCE for The Jackson Clinics, coordinating the placement of students with Clinical Instructors across the company. She works with various universities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and across the country, as well as events focused on student development.

Specialties: Dr. Lannigan works with patients across the range of musculoskeletal disorders and post-operative care. She enjoys working with all age groups to enhance their understanding for optimal movement and exercise to stay healthy and injury-free. She also works with patients with neurological disorders to improve gait, balance and coordination. In addition to clinic-based physical therapy, she performs aquatic physical therapy, working with patients in the pool. She has specialization in pelvic disorders, and treats patients to address incontinence, pelvic pain and pregnancy-related and post-partum musculoskeletal disorders.

Fun Facts: Away from work, Dr. Lannigan enjoys spending time with her children, hiking and photography.

Kristopher Porter, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: Dr. Porter graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. Kris is a Board Certified "Orthopedic Clinical Specialist" and is planning on sitting for the Sports Certification exam. Dr. Porter graduated from the orthopedic physical therapy residency program at The Jackson Clinics in 2009, and since that time has served as a mentor in the residency program and eventually took on the role of residency director in 2011. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the orthopedic, research, and education sections. Dr. Porter is an APTA certified "advanced clinical instructor" and is the instructor for The Jackson Clinics “Advanced Mentoring” course. Kris is also a "Direct Access Provider" and Red Cross Certified "Emergency Medical Responder."  Kris has and continues to serve as a clinical instructor to physical therapy students from various universities and has served as adjunct faculty at Marymount University. Dr. Porter is co-author of the peer reviewed "Pelvic Girdle" Current Concepts monograph published by the APTA, wrote a chapter on "Plantar Heel Pain" in 2014 and collaborates on research studies within The Jackson Clinics. Kris is committed to improving the profession of physical therapy globally and has been involved in physical therapy education programs in Peru, Bhutan, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Specialties: Kris is skilled in treating musculoskeletal disorders of the entire human machine, except the hand and women's health disorders. If Dr. Porter is not proficient in treating your condition fully, Kris has a broad inter/intra-disciplinary network and is happy to recommend another therapist, physician or other healthcare provider that can help manage and restore function as soon as possible. He works with patients of all ages and abilities to include competitive athletes, but he does not work with infants. He also makes custom orthotics for the foot and related disorders of the knee and above.

Fun Facts: Kris also has a strong research interest in optimization of delicious eats, drinks and being merry.

Education: Lauren graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, VA with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy . She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina. She is a Board Certified Direct Access Provider in the state of Virginia. She plans to get her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) as well as her CrossFit Level 1 Certification by the end of the year.

Specialties: Lauren has a strong interest in sports rehabilitation including middle school/ high school athletes, weekend warriors, and CrossFit athletes. Lauren grew up playing numerous sports including gymnastics, basketball, and swimming and understands the frustrations of dealing with injuries, the urgency of return to sport, and the importance of rehabilitation. As an active CrossFit athlete she understands the demands of Olympic lifting and CrossFit workouts and enjoys helping to treat and prevent injuries.

Fun Facts: Lauren enjoys being active and spending time with friends. She also enjoys traveling and helping others. She recently had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica and help local underprivileged communities by providing education and physical therapy treatment to those in need.

Education: Michael graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2012 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, where he also completed a BS in exercise science. He completed a BA in philosophy and with a minor in history at the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbana before deciding to become a PT. Michael is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Specialties: Michael has an interest in treating athletes of all types. He commonly treats patients with knee, hip, ankle and shoulder injuries, as well as cervical and lumbar related injuries. He also works with patients in the functional management of chronic pain and chronic pain conditions.

Fun Facts: Michael enjoys running, hiking, climbing, weight lifting, tennis, and folk dancing. While not very coordinated, he also likes to play pick-up games of basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, etc.

Education: Tiffany graduated from VCU with a BS in exercise science and minor in psychology.  She is a Certified Health and Fitness Specialist (HFS) with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

Specialties: Tiffany has a background working with neurological and orthopedic injuries. She is experienced in aquatic therapy and has been a water exercise instructor at VCU and for seniors at a rehabilitation center. Tiffany has worked with a variety of athletes in sport specific protocols as a personal trainer.

Fun Facts: Tiffany enjoys being active. She played rugby, dodgeball, and flag football at VCU. She has a soft spot for brownies and dogs!
